Vision solutions for life.

Children with 20/20 eyesight can still struggle to read because their eyes don't work well together. Dr. Laura Vasilakos finds what a standard eye exam misses — then treats it, from infancy through adulthood.

Eyesight is not vision

About 1 in 4 children has a vision problem that affects learning.

Issues like these are often missed at school screenings. A child can read the chart perfectly and still lose their place, skip words, or get headaches after a few minutes of reading.

Eyesight

Clarity

How sharp you see. Measured by acuity testing — the 20/20 chart.

Vision

Eyes + brain

How the eyes and brain work together. Measured by functional testing.

What we help with

Four problems, one specialist.

E

Learning & reading

Children with 20/20 eyesight whose eyes don't work together well. Often missed at school.

F

Myopia

Nearsightedness progresses as the eye lengthens, raising the risk of serious eye conditions. Treatment protects long-term eye health.

P

Lazy eye

Vision therapy can treat amblyopia at any age — without surgery.

Z

Concussion

Vision happens in the brain, and over half of it is involved in visual processing. Concussions can significantly affect vision.

Services

Everything under one roof.

Functional exams look at tracking, eye teaming, focusing, depth perception, visual processing and post-concussion function — not just clarity.

Orthokeratology (Ortho-k)

Specialized contact lenses reshape the eye overnight, allowing clear vision during the day without glasses or surgery. The treatment also slows nearsightedness progression.

MiSight 1 Day

Soft daily contact lenses for children aged 8 to 12 that correct nearsightedness and slow its progression. 95 to 100% of age-appropriate children preferred them to glasses.
